Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
